    Photo Album Descriptions

Aerials - After purchasing a digital camera I went hog wild with the amount of pictures I was taking.  When I was working as a Navy contractor, I had to fly over to the Persian Gulf several times and once in a while I would see some cool things.  The pictures here are taken flying out of London, England, Oahu, Hawaii and flying into Los Angeless.  These were taken with an Olympus D-580.

Aqaba Jordan - While on one of my overseas trips in 2002, I was sent to one of the amphibious ships which was having problems with a computer system.  Luckily they were heading to port because after being cooped up on a ship in a hot as hell environment and no alcohol - I was ready to hit land.  Acqaba is a small little town that is situated on the very northern tip of the Gulf of Aqaba which is a finger of water that connects to the Red Sea.  Because of the terrorist activity, the Sailors and Marines could not leave the pier that the ships were tied to.  Me being civilian, I was able to stay at a very nice hotel with it's own beach.  Along with my own pics, there are some nice pics at

Iceland - I was stationed at the NATO base in Keflavik, Iceland from June 1996 to December 1998.  It's really hard for those stationed on the West Coast to be transferred to the East Coast let alone Europe.  But I had just been promoted and was asked where I wanted to go.  I told the guy anywhere in Europe.  Iceland was all he had and that was fine by me.  It's such a gorgeous country even without the tall tree forests that people are used to.  The Vikings and early settlers of Iceland pretty much chopped down all the trees so needless to say there aren't many trees more than 20 feet or so high.  Plus with the constant volcanic activity, it's hard to grown anything except for moss on a lava flow....even one several hundreds of years old.  Since only having been there for just about two years, I didn't get to take it all in but here's a good start point if you want to learn/see more  http://www.icelandreview.com/ and some more beautiful pics at http://www.benoa.net/iceland/index.html

Hawaii 2004 - During the summer of 2004, I took my last trip as a Navy Contractor with the USS John C. Stennis Battle Group.  After an awesome trip to Anchorage and Seward, Alaska the battle group traveled down to the warmer waters of Oahu.  I departed from the Stennis and spent a few days on Oahu.

My Military Days  - This is a compilation of photos including my active duty days and as a Navy contractor.

Petra - You might remember seeing this place in the movie Indian Jones.  Here's a website that contains some factual information:   http://www.brown.edu/Departments/Anthropology/Petra/

Unique Shots - All taken by me....except for that shot of the Golden Gate Bridge.
